Training hours and Blue Card CE

The Training tab totals each member's live-drill time for any period you choose, split three ways: time holding command as IC #1 (the drill's initial commander), time as IC #2 (command received by transfer), and time as crew. Every number is computed from the sealed drill records, so the report covers drills that ran before this feature existed. Guests are never included.

Choosing a period#

Pick a preset (this year, last 12 months, or the 3-year certification cycle) or set a custom range. Blue Card recertification looks for at least 12 hours per year of strategic and tactical command training, 36 hours over the 3-year cycle.

Reading a member's record#

Click a member to expand their record:

  • Building type coverage: for each structure type they drilled on, whether they were evaluated while holding IC #1 and IC #2, or held the position without an eval on record. Blue Card recertification requires IC evaluations across building types, so this is the gap list.
  • Evaluation rollup, kept separate per template: how many evals, checks passed, and average scale score.
  • The drills themselves: date, scenario, positions held with time in each, and the evaluation attached to that drill. Click a drill to open its replay.

IC #1 and IC #2#

The labels come from the drill record, not from any assignment: the first member to hold command in a drill is IC #1, and anyone who receives command after that is IC #2, which is how Blue Card frames the transfer-of-command exercise. To run a deliberate transfer drill, the command board has a Planned IC #2 selection; it changes nothing by itself, and the one-tap Transfer command button executes the transfer, which the record then reflects.

Drills from private scenarios#

A promotional evaluation counts. If the drill ran a scenario marked admins only, the firefighter still gets the time in their record with its date and duration, because they did the work and may need the hours for continuing education. What is withheld from everyone but an admin is the scenario's name, since that is what would tell the next candidate what they are walking into. See Private scenarios for evaluations.

Exporting#

Export CSV produces one row per member per drill (date, scenario, building type, hours by position, eval results, instructor of record, session code) plus a totals row per member, ready to transcribe into the Blue Card RMS or attach to a recertification packet.
